Chapter 1: Find Me If You Can
It was supposed to be an open and shut case. The evidence was strong but in the end, it led to a dark prickly haze. It was hostile but I dove in, and that’s when I noticed identities emerging and dissolving within it. Each was adorned with beliefs and concepts which glittered in the light. Even the most grotesque emanation was spellbinding.
Each one claimed to be him without being asked. And they weren’t lying. This guy deserves an Oscar. He’s fooled everyone including himself. These were projections and he knew it. But he loved them. Even the ones that caused him to suffer. But that doesn’t make sense. Unless...he’s a hostage!
I quickly grabbed my pencil and faithfully sketched every detail. When they appeared I greeted them with their own image and the spell was broken. When the last identity was exposed the entire structure collapsed and he escaped the prison of his own design. He literally went out of his mind. And now that he’s free, there’s no telling what he’ll do next…
